Important: DEFIANCE is a control switch with internal electronic self-protection. It is not a circuit breaker. Every connected circuit must still be protected by the correct fuse or marine circuit breaker according to the load and cable size.

Every DEFIANCE switch is supplied with a 90cm / 35.4in pre-wired harness, reducing the amount of termination work required behind the dashboard and making installation easier in compact helm consoles and custom boat switch panels.

Wire sizes depend on the switch function:

ON/OFF and momentary versions: 14 AWG input/output conductors and 18 AWG LED/control conductors
OFF-ON-ON two-channel version: 16 AWG conductors
OFF-BOTH-ON Nav/Anchor version: 16 AWG conductors

The switch pigtail does not determine the allowable size of the complete boat circuit. The remaining installation cable must be sized according to current draw, cable length, voltage drop and the applicable marine electrical requirements.
