The Baywatt R0 Series waterproof rocker switches are designed for reliable DC control in demanding environments. Built for 12V and 24V systems, they are suitable for marine dashboards, 4x4 vehicles, RV electrical systems, agricultural machinery and industrial control panels.
If your installation is exposed to saltwater, humidity, vibration or UV, a standard rocker switch is often not enough. The R0 Series combines sealed construction, UV-resistant materials and stable current handling for dependable switching in environments where conventional switches wear out faster.
This page focuses on the R0-N02, the 3-pin momentary (ON)-OFF SPST version of the range. Unlike a latching ON/OFF switch, this model only stays active while your finger is pressing the rocker. Once released, it automatically returns to OFF. It features a green LED indicator during activation and is ideal for short press control, temporary command functions, pulse signals and safety-related operations.
The R0-N02 shares the same general build quality, rocker style and marine-oriented construction standard as the rocker switches used in Baywatt RPS marine panels. While some 4-pin variants in the R0 Series are used for more advanced switching and dual LED functions, this 3-pin momentary version offers the same robust feel and reliable panel integration in a format designed for temporary activation.
A momentary rocker switch is a non-latching switch. It does not remain in the ON position after being pressed. Instead, the internal spring mechanism returns the rocker to its default OFF position as soon as pressure is released. On the R0-N02, the switching function is SPST, providing simple temporary circuit activation while the rocker is pressed. This makes it useful when a circuit must be activated only during finger control, whether for a horn, a reset command, a pulse relay or a temporary override function.
The IP66 sealing helps protect against dust and water spray. The reinforced ABS and Nylon body resists long-term exposure to UV, moisture and mechanical stress. The internal contact system is designed for stable operation in vibrating environments such as boats, off-road vehicles and utility equipment.
A latching switch stays in its new position until it is pressed again. A momentary switch only sends a temporary command. That difference is important in real installations. A horn must sound only while pressed, a pulse relay only needs a short signal, and certain override or reset functions should not remain engaged by mistake. In these situations, the R0-N02 provides safer and more precise control than a standard ON/OFF rocker.
Not all rocker switches operate in the same way. The R0 Series is available in several configurations to match different control requirements:
The R0-N02 is the right choice when you need a momentary waterproof SPST rocker switch for temporary circuit activation rather than maintained power switching.
What does momentary (ON)-OFF mean?
It means the switch only reaches the ON position while it is being pressed. Once released, it automatically returns to OFF.
Is the R0-N02 an SPST switch?
Yes. The R0-N02 uses an SPST circuit with a simple momentary ON/OFF switching function for temporary circuit activation.
Is this the same as a standard ON/OFF rocker switch?
No. A standard ON/OFF rocker is latching and stays in position. The R0-N02 is momentary and is designed for short press control.
Is it suitable for a marine horn?
Yes. This is one of the most typical uses for a momentary rocker switch, since the circuit remains active only while the rocker is pressed.
Can it be used for an automatic bilge pump override?
Yes. It can be used where a temporary manual command is needed, for example as a brief override or test function, depending on the wiring logic of your installation.
Does the LED stay illuminated permanently?
No. On this model, the LED is intended to indicate the active command, so it is associated with the momentary ON position.
What terminals are required?
Standard 6.3 mm female spade connectors are used.
